1st January is a good time to think, especially after the year we’ve just left behind. So many people have been saying we need to get away from the ‘old’ normal, not go back to it (usually people with more than one brain cell to run together). But even if so many of us want a new way to live, with more equity, less poverty and more self-respect, it looks like it’s still an optimistic dream.
At New Year, Charles Eisenstein – a particularly good philosopher/leader – had a meditation. One of the thoughts that sank in was that change has to come from the heart, from the inside out, it can’t be imposed from outside. That, of course, is a lot more difficult (at least on the surface), than taking guns and cannon and rocket launchers, but we’ve had 4 thousand years of that mentalilty and men still think it works. Patently, it doesn’t.
We *have* to change, or we can kiss goodbye to humanity – and to the earth, too. The mess we’ve made of the environment means that the next pandemic will be a lot worse. So surely it makes sense that we start caring for the environment? You’d have thought it would be self-evident, wouldn’t you. But when people trying to save lives in the NHS are attacked and vilified, I am astonished at just how stupid people can be. There’s self-sabotage, and then there’s self-destruction.
The image is a daub about self-sabotage and self-destruction.
Multi-Dimensional Thoughts
Thoughts on a Multi-Dimensional Universe Reading back on old books and journals, I see that I was already talking about the Devas being Multi-Dimensional energies in 1980 or so. If you think about it, of course, that makes complete sense ... even in our limited 3-D...
Sculpture
Recently I've been making a clay sculpture for a friend. I use special self-hardening clay sourced from the US – it's a clay and epoxy mix, which dries hard in 24 hours, and you can then drill it, carve it, and paint it. The friend wanted a Madonna for the little...
Spring Manifestation
After a long winter, we are finally seeing the true signs of spring in Tuscany - daffodils in the garden, and hints of the first delicate green leaves on the trees. It's not that the winter was very cold, but it was very, very wet - I think it rained most days...
Media
I saw an email today where my correspondent said they'd love to know about art, materials and anything else that I might be offering. That's lovely to hear, and gives me an idea about my ‘thought for today’. I use oils most of the time now, although I know people tend...
Reading for the World
I wanted to look at the year ahead. Using the Devas of Creation, I asked, 1) Will the world situation improve in 2021? Answer – Immanence (the card I call Gabriel). It's a lovely card, although the angelic being seems a little stuck on earth, even though it wants to...
